Belfast to Edinburgh Removals

This page is for anyone moving from Belfast or the wider Northern Ireland area to Edinburgh, whether that is a professional relocating for work, a family settling in the capital, or a student or renter moving a single room. Eipic runs the whole move as one door-to-door service: collection in Belfast, the sea crossing to Scotland, the road leg to Edinburgh, and delivery to your new address, all handled by the same insured, family-run crew.

You deal with one team and one written quote, not a chain of hand-offs. We help with full house moves, flats and single rooms, packing and dismantling, storage at either end if your dates do not line up, and all the cross-channel logistics including the ferry and paperwork. This route is part of our wider cross-channel removals service covering moves both ways between Northern Ireland and Great Britain

We arrange the sailing and run our own vehicle on the crossing to Scotland, so the crew that loads in Belfast is the crew that unloads in Edinburgh. There is no transfer between hauliers, no separate ferry booking for you to make, and we handle the paperwork for the move on your behalf. Every cross-channel job carries goods-in-transit and hire-and-reward insurance from collection right through to delivery.

How a Belfast to Edinburgh removal actually runs

Most Belfast to Edinburgh moves we run break down into five clear stages.

First, the free survey. We can do this in person if you are in Mid Ulster or Greater Belfast, or by WhatsApp video walkthrough if that suits you better. The video survey takes around twenty minutes and gives us enough to send a fixed all-in quote with no travel charge attached. There is no charge for the survey itself.

Second, packing. Edinburgh receiving addresses are often tenement flats with shared common stairs, narrow doorways, or upper floors without a lift. We pack for that. Boxes are labelled by room at the destination, fragile items are double-wrapped, and anything that needs dismantling is taken down at the Belfast end and rebuilt at the Edinburgh end by the same crew.

Third, the cross-channel leg. Our Belfast to Edinburgh jobs run via the crossing to Cairnryan and then on by road to Edinburgh. We confirm which day your delivery window falls on at the point of booking, not on the morning of the move.

Fourth, Edinburgh delivery. We brief the crew before the run on parking arrangements, any Low Emission Zone requirements, lift bookings where they exist, and common-stair access. If your Edinburgh street needs a parking dispensation or a bay suspension from the council, we will flag it at the quote stage so you can arrange it in time.

Fifth, the unload. We carry, place, reassemble and clear away the packing material on the same visit. We do not clock off until the job is finished. That is the Job Done Promise and it is in writing on every quote.

City-to-city realities most quotes miss

A Belfast to Edinburgh move is not a generic NI to GB job. The Edinburgh end has its own rules.

Parking. Much of central Edinburgh sits within Controlled Parking Zones, and many streets need a dispensation or a suspended bay booked in advance with the City of Edinburgh Council. Our office handles that liaison directly with you and your Edinburgh receiving address.

Access. New Town flats, Old Town closes and tenement conversions routinely have shared common stairs, narrow doorways or upper floors with no lift, and some streets are cobbled or setted. We size the right vehicle and crew for the building, not for the volume alone.

Low Emission Zone. Edinburgh operates a Low Emission Zone in the city centre. We factor any zone requirements into your delivery plan so it is accounted for before the day. (Please confirm current LEZ handling with us at quote stage.)

Timing. Corporate relocations often need a same-week or next-week start. Where the brief allows, we can move quickly from survey to moving day, including packing. If your date is tight, talk to us and we will tell you straight whether we can hit it.

Storage either side. If your Edinburgh flat is not ready on completion day, we can hold your belongings in our Cookstown facility or arrange storage for the gap, with the re-delivery built in. See our storage options for current rates.

Why Eipic for the Belfast to Edinburgh Route

We are not a broker. The lorry pulling up at your Belfast door is ours. The crew lifting the sofa onto the ferry is ours. The team carrying it up to your Edinburgh flat is ours.

We carry full goods-in-transit insurance and hire-and-reward insurance on every cross-channel job. Our quotes are fixed and all-in, with no travel charge anywhere in Northern Ireland and no surprise extras at the Edinburgh end. Notable past clients on the heavier end of our work include the National Trust, SVP and Women's Aid, which gives a sense of the kind of jobs we are trusted with.

We are family-run, and the same name answers the phone on a Monday morning as on a Friday afternoon. Moving is personal, and we treat your belongings like our own.

Belfast to Edinburgh Removals FAQs

Moving between Belfast to Edinburgh? Have a look at our short answers about our Belfast to Edinburgh cross-channel removal service. For more details, visit our main FAQ page.

Do you offer removals from Belfast to Edinburgh?

Yes. Belfast to Edinburgh is one of our regular cross-channel routes. We collect at your Belfast address, handle the crossing to Scotland, and deliver to your Edinburgh address with the same crew from start to finish.

Can you move tenement or upper-floor flats in Edinburgh?

Yes. We move tenement flats, New Town conversions and upper-floor properties with shared common stairs and no lift. We check the access on the survey and plan the loading before the day.

Do you offer part-loads as well as dedicated vans?

Yes. A part-load shares van space with other moves on the route and is usually the most cost-effective option for a smaller home or single room. A dedicated van gives you the vehicle to yourself.

Can you help with packing and storage?

Yes. We offer full, part and fragile-only packing, plus dismantling and reassembly, and secure storage at either end if your dates do not line up.

Do you handle the ferry and paperwork?

Yes. We arrange the sailing, run our own vehicle on the crossing, and handle the paperwork for the move, so there is nothing separate for you to book or file.

How do I get an accurate quote?

Send a walkthrough video over WhatsApp or request a quote, and tell us your route, dates and any packing or storage needs. We will come back with a clear written quote.
